Many years ago I set out to create the greatest retail store I could and more than twenty-five years later I’m pleased to say I made a success of it. It wasn’t easy, I had to spend many hours studying the characteristics of successful businesses and business people from all industries and learn how to implement these strategies into my store.

A quarter of a century later I sat down to analyse what it was I’d learned that had contributed to my achievements. I identified a number of key areas that had been critical in taking my retail business to an extremely high level. I then realised that if these strategies were implemented by other similar small retail businesses, then they too would be able to experience fascinating results. It had become a blueprint for small business success in the retail arena.

The next chapter of my life is to help and encourage other ambitious people to go out and achieve as much - and hopefully more - than I have. I hope that by drawing on my experiences you’re able to help establish and build a highly successful store. Running a shop is an emotional roller coaster with highs and lows, but with a little help you will be able to enjoy the ride of your life!
